Google is developing a new Gemini model called “Gemini with Personal context” that will personalize search results based on users’ search history. Revealed in a recent beta app teardown, this opt-in feature aims to provide tailored assistance if users allow it access to their Google Search history. The model can be disconnected from the history at any time. Initially, it shows promise for accurately responding to specific queries related to users’ prior searches. If successful, this model is expected to enhance responses to broader questions by better understanding individual user preferences. An official launch may be imminent.
Google is developing a new model called Gemini that aims to enhance personalization by utilizing your search history. This information was shared today following an analysis of the most recent beta version of the Google app.
According to the screenshots provided below, the model will be named “Gemini with Personal Context” or simply “Personalization” in the model selector at the top.
Gemini Personalization model
It seems to be an opt-in feature, at least for now, and by choosing to enable it, you can expect “personalized assistance based on your Google Search history”. Google emphasizes that this specific model will only access your search history if you grant permission.
While using this model, you also have the option to disconnect it from your history, as demonstrated in the screenshot on the right. This model appears to generate accurate results based on your search history, particularly when you ask it something straightforward like displaying your history or inquiring about specific previous searches.

Naturally, this capability will be even more beneficial if it can leverage your search history to produce tailored replies to broader inquiries, as it should have a better understanding of you and your preferences. This is our assumption, but it remains to be seen how Google will officially launch this model, which may happen very soon.
