Yuzvendra Chahal, the spinner for the Indian cricket team, and his wife Dhanashree Verma have reportedly initiated divorce proceedings, according to recent reports. While rumors of their separation had been circulating on social media for several months, confirmation of their divorce filing only surfaced a few days ago. It has been reported that the couple’s final hearing and related formalities were conducted at the Bandra Family Court, where both parties were present. However, Dhanashree’s attorney stated that the proceedings are still ongoing.
Dhanashree’s lawyer, Aditi Mohan, issued a statement saying, “I cannot comment on the ongoing proceedings; the matter is currently sub judice. The media should verify facts before publishing, as there is a lot of inaccurate information being distributed.”
Amidst this situation, Chahal shared a thought-provoking quote on Instagram on Friday: “It’s Chaos, Be Kind – Michelle McNamara.”
Various media outlets have reported that Dhanashree allegedly requested Rs 60 crore as alimony, but her family has vehemently denied these claims, urging the media to refrain from disseminating misinformation.
“We are profoundly appalled by the unfounded allegations regarding the alimony amount. Let me be clear – no such figure has been requested, demanded, or even proposed. These rumors are entirely untrue. Publishing such unverified information is irresponsible, as it subjects both parties and their families to needless speculation. This kind of reckless reporting causes harm, and we urge the media to practice restraint, verify facts before spreading falsehoods, and respect everyone’s privacy,” the statement indicated.
Recently, Chahal also posted on social media, saying, “God has protected me more times than I can count. So I can only imagine the times I’ve been rescued that I don’t even know about. Thank you, God, for always being there, even when I don’t know it. Amen.”
Dhanashree similarly shared a message about faith on her Instagram, stating, “From stressed to blessed. Isn’t it amazing how God can transform our worries and trials into blessings? If you’re feeling anxious about something today, remember that you have a choice. You can either continue to worry or surrender it to God and choose to pray about everything. There is power in having faith that God can work all things together for your good.”
