Indian cricket star Yuzvendra Chahal and his wife Dhanashree Verma have begun the divorce process, which is currently in progress. Rumors regarding their separation have been circulating for a while, with both Chahal and Dhanashree sharing ambiguous posts on social media. Although neither party has issued an official statement, various reports suggest that the divorce has already been finalized. Nevertheless, Dhanashree’s attorney dismissed such claims.

“I have no comments on the ongoing proceedings; the matter is currently sub judice. The media should verify their reports, as a lot of misleading information is being disseminated,” said Dhanashree’s lawyer Aditi Mohan in a statement to the press on Friday.

Additionally, media reports suggested that Dhanashree requested Rs 60 crore in alimony, a claim that her family emphatically denied and urged the press to avoid spreading misinformation.

“We are deeply upset by the unfounded assertions regarding the alimony sum. To be perfectly clear—no such amount has ever been requested, demanded, or proposed. These rumors are entirely false. It is highly irresponsible to circulate unverified information, which not only affects the individuals involved but also drags their families into unnecessary speculation. Reckless reporting like this causes harm, and we call on the media to practice restraint, verify facts before sharing misinformation, and respect everyone’s privacy,” the statement read.

Chahal recently posted on social media: “God has protected me more times than I can count. So I can only imagine the times I’ve been rescued that I don’t even know about. Thank you, God, for always being there, even when I don’t know it. Amen.”

Dhanashree also conveyed a message about faith on her Instagram account: “From stressed to blessed. Isn’t it incredible how God can transform our worries and challenges into blessings? If you’re stressing about something today, remember that you have a choice. You can either continue to worry or surrender it all to God and choose to pray about everything. There is power in believing that God can work all things together for your good.”
