Details of Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 Specifications Emerge, Unveiling an Unexpected Array of Enhancements

Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold7 is expected to launch in July with Android 16 and One UI 8.0, thanks to an earlier release from Google. Rumors suggest it will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy SoC, feature an improved under-display selfie camera, enhanced water and dust resistance, a smaller crease, and better speakers and vibration motor. The device will be thinner at 4.5mm when unfolded, with larger displays of 8″ inner and 6.5″ outer, and it may include a 200 MP main camera similar to the Galaxy S25 Ultra, marking a significant upgrade in the foldable lineup.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 is set to debut this year, likely in July. It is expected to launch with Android 16 and One UI 8.0, thanks to Google’s decision to expedite the release of the new Android version, which is scheduled for Q2 (April to June).

A new rumor today reveals additional key details about what we can anticipate from Samsung’s upcoming foldable device, which will be available internationally in a book-style design. It will, as expected, be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy SoC, similar to the Galaxy S25 series.

Additionally, it is rumored to feature an enhanced under-display selfie camera, a “more robust display with new layers” (whatever that entails), upgraded water and dust resistance, a reduced crease, a larger vapor chamber, and improved speakers along with a superior vibration motor compared to its predecessor.

But that’s not all! The device is said to be even thinner at 4.5mm when unfolded and will boast larger displays: an 8″ inner display and a 6.5″ outer display. Furthermore, it is anticipated to include a 200 MP main camera, potentially the same one featured in the Galaxy S25 Ultra.

This is quite an impressive list of enhancements for a model line that hasn’t introduced many upgrades in recent years. While it may not completely reinvent the wheel, the Fold7 has the potential to reestablish Samsung’s stance in the foldable market, especially when measured against its Chinese rivals. Of course, all of this remains to be confirmed.
