A tourist from Delhi, Deepak Batra, has been arrested in Goa and charged with murder after allegedly running over a local woman, Maria Feliz Fernandes, during a dispute over a pet dog. The confrontation began when Fernandes requested the tourist family to keep their dog away from her property, leading to an argument and a physical altercation. Batra reportedly ran over Fernandes at high speed, dragging her body for about 10 meters. Her son, Joseph, was injured while trying to assist her. Goa Police have officially registered a murder case against Batra following this incident.

A tourist from Delhi has been detained in Goa and accused of murder for allegedly running over a woman following a heated dispute regarding a pet dog. The event took place in Mandrem after a local woman asked a tourist family to keep their dog away from her home, according to police sources.
Maria Feliz Fernandes requested the tourists to distance their dog from her residence as it was troubling her own pet dog. This escalated into a heated argument and ultimately a confrontation between both parties.
One of the women from the tourist group assaulted Ms. Fernandes by pulling her hair, causing her to fall, as reported by sources. Shortly after, Deepak Batra, who was part of the tourist group, ran over her at a high speed, sources revealed.
The vehicle dragged the victim’s body for approximately 10 metres, and when her son Joseph attempted to assist her, he sustained a shoulder injury.
Goa Police have officially filed a case against Deepak Batra and charged him with murder.
