Delhi BJP Chief Virendra Sachdeva announced that the BJP government will ensure transparency in its advertisement policy, asserting that no public funds will be used for government glorification or to promote the Chief Minister. He emphasized that all costs related to the recent oath-taking ceremony were covered by the BJP, contrasting this with the AAP’s previous spending of crores on self-promotion. Sachdeva criticized the AAP’s past advertisement practices for lacking transparency and misusing funds, indicating that the BJP is committed to issuing advertisements solely in the public interest and showcasing good governance following their return to power after 26 years.
New Delhi:
On Friday, Delhi BJP Chief Virendra Sachdeva announced that there would be no waste of public funds on promoting the government in the national capital, the Chief Minister, or the party.
During a press conference, Sachdeva emphasized that the advertisement policy of the BJP government in Delhi would be completely transparent, with every advertisement issued serving the public interest.
After more than 26 years, the party returned to power in Delhi, putting an end to the decade-long rule of the Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP.
“The BJP is recognized for its commitment to good governance, and Delhi experienced its first glimpse of this on Thursday. This insight into the competence of the BJP has highlighted the poor governance and mismanagement by both its predecessor and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP),” he stated.
He remarked, “Residents of Delhi recall the oath-taking events of Arvind Kejriwal’s AAP government in 2015 and 2020, during which public funds were extensively utilized to flood the streets and newspapers with government advertisements just before the events. In stark contrast, the BJP government refrained from spending any public money to promote the oath-taking ceremony on Thursday.”
Sachdeva further noted that all advertisements, hoardings, and invitations for the “Developed Delhi” oath-taking ceremony were solely funded by the BJP.
“In comparison, the AAP government allocated crores of public funds for self-promotion in 2020. According to official figures, former CM Arvind Kejriwal spent Rs 4.5 crore daily on advertisements celebrating the formation of his third government in 2020. In contrast, the BJP spent zero public funds on Thursday,” he asserted.
Virendra Sachdeva accused the agency managing advertisements during Kejriwal’s administration of lacking transparency and misusing public funds.
In conclusion, he reiterated that the advertisement policy of the BJP government would be entirely transparent and that all advertisements would be issued exclusively for the public’s benefit.
