The CMF Buds 2 have launched, offering three models: Buds 2, Buds 2 Plus, and Buds 2a, each at different price points. The Buds 2 feature 11mm drivers, 48dB Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), and up to 13.5 hours of battery life. The Plus model enhances ANC to 50dB with better audio quality, 14 hours of battery life, and Smart Adaptive Mode. The Buds 2a are more affordable but offer lower ANC (42dB) and battery life (8 hours). All models are IP55 rated and can be customized through the Nothing X app. Pre-orders begin today, with sales starting May 6.
The CMF Buds 2 made a significant impact upon their recent unveiling, but today marks the official launch of CMF’s latest TWS earbuds, featuring three models across varying price points.
The CMF Buds 2 come equipped with 11mm drivers and Dirac Opteo tuning. They offer 48dB Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) covering a 5,200Hz range. With ANC turned off, the buds can provide up to 13.5 hours of playback, while the total listening time with the charging case reaches 55 hours.

The CMF Buds 2 Plus are available for just $10 more and come with substantial upgrades over the standard model. Their ANC surpasses even the Buds Pro 2, reaching 50dB in a 5,400Hz range, compared to the 50dB in a 5,000Hz range for the Pro. Additionally, the Plus and Pro models offer Smart Adaptive Mode, a feature not found in the Buds 2.
This variant promises enhanced audio quality with 12mm drivers and support for the LDAC codec, in addition to being Hi-Res Audio certified.
CMF Buds 2 Plus
The Plus model boasts the best battery performance within the 2-series lineup, offering up to 14 hours of use (ANC off) and a total of 61.5 hours with the charging case. It also features a low-latency mode, though it registers at 105ms when connected to devices running Nothing OS.
Both the CMF Buds 2 and Buds 2 Plus have an IP55 rating for dust and water resistance. They come with six microphones (three on each bud) equipped with Wind Noise Reduction 3.0 and Clear Voice Technology 3.0.
The CMF Buds 2a, priced at $10 less than the base model, make some compromises to maintain a lower price point. They feature 12.4mm drivers and Dirac tuning. While ANC is present, it only offers 42dB of noise cancellation, utilizing four microphones (two per bud) with older noise reduction technology.

Additionally, the battery life is reduced to 8 hours for the earbuds (ANC off) and a total of 35.5 hours with the case. The water resistance rating is lower as well, dropping to IP54.
All CMF earbuds can be customized via the Nothing X app, allowing users to modify the EQ and Ultra Bass settings, switch ANC levels, utilize multi-point connectivity, engage low-latency mode, and even summon ChatGPT.
