The sources indicated that the incident took place following a screening of the Hindi film ‘Chhaava‘, featuring Vicky Kaushal, which is a historical drama about Maratha warrior king Chhatrapati Sambhaji.

Numerous videos of the event have circulated on various social media platforms, depicting youths spraying black paint on the signboards and attaching images of Shivaji, the founder of the Maratha Empire. Sambhaji, the son of Shivaji, was the second ruler of the empire.
