Bengaluru:
A 20-year-old man was killed, and four others sustained injuries in a tragic accident in Karnataka when a car struck a divider at high speed and rolled over four times before coming to rest on its side. The force of the crash was such that two individuals were ejected from the vehicle and landed on the roadway as it overturned.
According to police officials, the incident occurred on a highway near Kattihosahalli in Doddaballapur taluk early Monday morning. A video captured the moment the car, seemingly traveling at high speed, collided with the divider and mounted the traffic island that separates the highway. The vehicle then flipped, displacing dirt and grass from the island, causing two passengers to be thrown onto the road.
The front of the car impacted the roadway during its third flip, and by the fourth flip, the vehicle came to rest entirely on the asphalt. The footage concludes with the car on its side, one of its wheels rolling on its own across the traffic island, while an individual is seen exiting the vehicle after it ceased moving.
Police stated that the car was en route from Dharwad to Vijayapura in Devanahalli taluk. “The driver, Mohammad Yunus (20), succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment. Four other occupants of the car are injured and have been admitted to the hospital,” an official reported.
