Breaking News: Rams Set to Deal Jonah Jackson to Bears

The Rams have traded offensive lineman Jonah Jackson to the Bears for a sixth-round pick in 2025, per ESPN’s Courtney Cronin. The trade will become official at the start of the new league year next week. Jackson, 28, signed a three-year, $51 million deal with the Rams but faced diminished playing time after an injury. He started four games in 2024 and has a history as a Pro Bowler, having been drafted by the Lions in 2020. The Bears will assume Jackson’s full contract, which totals $17.5 million in 2025, addressing their offensive line needs ahead of free agency.

The Rams have secured a trade partner for offensive lineman Jonah Jackson.

According to Courtney Cronin of ESPN, Los Angeles has agreed to send Jackson to Chicago in return for a sixth-round pick in 2025.

This transaction cannot be finalized until the new league year begins next week.

Jackson, 28, signed a three-year, $51 million contract with the Rams during free agency last season. However, after an early-season injury, he was benched once he regained his health to maintain consistency in the Rams’ starting lineup.

Last week, it was reported that L.A. had given Jackson the go-ahead to explore a trade.

Jackson appeared in a total of four games in 2024, including the team’s Week 18 matchup where head coach Sean McVay chose to rest most of the starters.

The Lions drafted Jackson in the third round of the 2020 draft, and he earned a Pro Bowl selection in 2021 after starting 16 games at guard that year.

As per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Bears will assume Jackson’s entire contract. He is set to earn $17.5 million in total for 2025 and will also be under contract in 2026.

This trade allows the Bears to address a crucial need on their offensive line ahead of the onset of free agency.
