Bihar YouTuber Assaults Train Passenger for Attention, Detained by Railway Police Following Public Outrage

Ritesh Kumar, a YouTuber, was arrested by the Railway Protection Force (RPF) for slapping a random passenger on a train at Bihar’s Anugraha Narayan Road railway station, intending to gain online fame. Accompanied by a friend filming the act, Kumar’s video went viral, prompting public outrage and calls for his apprehension. Following his arrest, Kumar apologized, admitting that he staged the incident to increase his social media following and promised not to repeat such behavior. Social media users supported the RPF’s actions, demanding harsher penalties for similar offenders to ensure passenger safety and deter vandalism.

A man who assaulted a random passenger on a train at Bihar’s Anugraha Narayan Road railway station and filmed the entire incident for online recognition has faced consequences for his actions. The offender, recognized as Ritesh Kumar, stood on the railway platform, waiting for the train to depart before approaching it and striking an unsuspecting passenger. Meanwhile, his friend documented the incident for social media sharing.

As the video circulated widely, users on social media expressed outrage and called for action against Kumar. The Railway Protection Force (RPF) quickly intervened and apprehended Kumar, instructing him to issue an apology.

“No compromise on passenger security!! A YouTuber who slapped a passenger on a moving train for social media fame has been located & apprehended by RPF Dehri-on-Sone!” RPF mentioned in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

“Your safety is our priority—reckless actions will not be tolerated.”

In the apology video, Kumar acknowledged his wrongdoing, explaining that he aimed to boost his followers by creating such content.

“I am a YouTuber. I create and share videos on Instagram to increase my followers. I went to Anugraha Narayan Road railway station and, to enhance my follower count, slapped a passenger on a moving train,” Kumar stated.

“This was my mistake, and I promise it won’t happen again. Please forgive me,” he added.

In response to Kumar’s arrest, social media users commended the RPF for their swift action and insisted that all offenders should face similar repercussions.

“Great job RPF. Such offenders need to be held accountable,” remarked one user, while another added: “Without severe penalties, they will never learn. They should be fined heavily.”

A third user commented: “I hope everyone who vandalizes trains is found, arrested, and receives a significant punishment as well. No one has the right to harm public property.”
