Zoe Lewis, previously trapped in a discouraging cycle of yo-yo dieting, has transformed her life and physique, shedding an incredible 42 kg over more than a year. Once weighing as much as 107 kg, the 23-year-old fitness influencer has opted for a lasting lifestyle change instead of temporary diets, showcasing that sustainable weight loss is achievable through consistent, healthy habits. With nearly 40,000 followers on TikTok, Lewis is dedicated to inspiring others to adopt a more balanced and effective approach to fitness and wellness.

The moment that changed everything

“I have always been an overweight person, with my weight fluctuating between 85-100 kg for most of my adult life,” the Gold Coast resident shared with news.com.au.

“I tried various fad diets and workout plans that would temporarily help me lose weight, but as soon as I stopped, I would quickly regain it, reaching 90-100 kg again.

“I despised the way I felt and looked, and I wanted to improve for my own sake. So, when I hit 107 kg, I made a commitment to abandon the fads and embark on my 14-month weight loss journey toward 65 kg.”

Even at her heaviest, Ms. Lewis mentioned that she was somewhat active, engaging in circuit training at the gym, though not regularly.

However, she felt that her biggest obstacle was not identifying as an “active” person.

Acquiring knowledge and building healthy habits

“I never found a routine that suited me. I would complete a six-week challenge, only to revert to my old habits afterward,” she explained.

“I never walked; I would just seize the chance to relax in bed during my free time.

“My diet was terrible, primarily consisting of take-out, quick meals from the store, and sweets, with little to no cooking involved. I hardly ate vegetables and my gut health was extremely poor.”

Unlike her previous efforts, when Ms. Lewis became serious about losing weight, she committed to truly educating herself, ensuring that her diet was not restrictive and that she understood how food influenced her body.

“I learned the significance of protein, fats, and carbohydrates, and recognized that walking and strength training were the most effective ways to lose weight,” she stated.

“I consistently modified my diet and routine throughout the journey to guarantee a healthy weight loss.”
