Aubrey O’Day Will Not Testify in Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Trial, Has Not Been Subpoenaed (Exclusive)

Aubrey O’Day, former singer of Danity Kane, announced she will not testify in Sean “Diddy” Combs’ federal trial, contrary to speculation from her social media posts. During the premiere episode of her podcast, she clarified that she was neither subpoenaed nor planning to appear in court. O’Day, who rose to fame under Diddy’s mentorship on MTV’s Making the Band, shared that she met with Homeland Security, further distancing herself from the trial. Diddy faces multiple charges including racketeering and sex trafficking, with former girlfriend Cassie Ventura providing bombshell testimonies about emotional abuse and coercion. The trial continues for several weeks.

Former Danity Kane singer Aubrey O’Day has announced that she will not testify in the high-profile federal trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs during the debut episode of a new podcast focused on the trial, hosted by T.J. Holmes and Amy Robach.

The 41-year-old performer, who became well-known through MTV’s Making the Band under Diddy’s mentorship, had piqued interest with a May 14 Instagram post that some speculated signaled her involvement in Diddy’s trial.

In her post, she shared a video from New York City with the message: “Hey New York!!! Where y’all think I should head first?” She included a weighing scale emoji, often linked to justice themes.

Despite this post and earlier claims of a subpoena, PEOPLE has confirmed that O’Day will not be testifying, as she hasn’t been subpoenaed by either the prosecution or the defense.

In the first episode of iHeart Radio’s Amy Robach & T.J. Holmes Present: Aubrey O’Day, Covering the Diddy Trial, O’Day stated to Holmes, “No, I’m not here to testify for the Diddy trial, that I know of.” She also mentioned being “contacted by Homeland Security” and that she “did have a meeting with Homeland Security.”

“I posted on my Instagram that I was here in New York and having a good time because I wanted to clarify to everyone that I am not here to testify,” O’Day explained.

PEOPLE reached out to Homeland Security but has yet to receive a response.

Combs, 55, has pleaded not guilty to several federal charges, including racketeering and sex trafficking. He was arrested in September 2024 and is currently held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn without bail. If convicted, he could face a life sentence.

Casandra “Cassie” Ventura, Combs’ former partner, has already made significant statements during her testimony in the trial.

On May 13, Ventura characterized her relationship as one afflicted by emotional abuse and coercive control. She revealed that she attended sex parties—known as “Freak Offs”—because she “loved him so much.”

Her testimony continued the next day, detailing a 2016 incident captured on hotel surveillance footage, which was later made public by CNN.

Prior to this trial, Ventura filed a civil lawsuit against Combs, alleging rape and physical abuse. Although the case was settled for $20 million, it sparked a series of allegations that now form the basis of the ongoing criminal investigation.

The trial, which commenced with opening remarks on May 12, is expected to unfold over several weeks.

Combs continues to deny all allegations against him.

Additional episodes of Aubrey O’Day, Covering The Diddy Trial will be released throughout the duration of the trial.
