Apple is integrating Google’s Gemini into its Apple Intelligence, alongside existing support for ChatGPT. This development surfaced in a backend update within the iOS 18.4 beta, which includes “OpenAI” and “Google” options for third-party AI models. While the feature could potentially launch with the public release of iOS 18.4 in April, there’s no confirmed timeline. Apple’s Craig Federighi previously indicated a desire to include more AI integrations. In addition, Apple confirmed that Apple Intelligence will officially launch in the EU in April, coinciding with support for more languages in iOS 18.4 and iPadOS 18.4.
Apple Intelligence already supports ChatGPT, and it appears that Apple is diligently working on incorporating Google’s Gemini as well. This integration is expected to be available at some point in the future.
A recent backend update accompanying the iOS 18.4 beta has introduced both “OpenAI” and “Google” choices for third-party models within Apple Intelligence. Although development is underway, there is no assurance on when the feature will actually be accessible to the public.

The most hopeful scenario suggests it could debut with the public launch of iOS 18.4, anticipated for April. However, a longer wait might be possible, and Apple could also opt not to proceed with the integration — no formal announcement has been made regarding this, despite Apple’s Craig Federighi previously indicating a desire for compatibility with other AI models, including those from Google.
In the meantime, Apple has officially announced that Apple Intelligence will be available in the EU in April with the rollout of iOS 18.4 and iPadOS 18.4, coinciding with the suite’s support for additional languages.
