The National Testing Agency (NTA) will soon start the Common University Entrance Test (CUET UG) 2025 registration, with application forms available on a new dedicated website. This year’s exam format will be revamped, reverting to a computer-based test (CBT) in May/June 2025. Students can choose up to five subjects for the test, irrespective of their Class 12 studies. The marking scheme awards +5 for correct answers and -1 for incorrect ones. Eligibility includes no age limit, with candidates who have completed or are appearing for Class 12 qualifying to apply for admissions across 277 institutions, including various universities.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is anticipated to commence the Common University Entrance Test (CUET UG) 2025 shortly. Once the announcement is made, the application forms will be accessible on the official NTA website. Additionally, the NTA has launched a new website dedicated to CUET UG 2025. This site will offer a comprehensive platform for undergraduate admissions, featuring the application link, registration timeline, information bulletin, syllabus details, and a section for frequently asked questions (FAQs).
Previously, the NTA implemented several modifications to the CUET UG exam pattern and subject selection criteria. This year, CUET UG for undergraduate admissions will be conducted in a newly updated format. The exam will revert to a computer-based test starting in 2025, allowing students to choose any subject regardless of what they studied in Class 12. Candidates can select up to five subjects, irrespective of their Class 12 curriculum.
Scheduled for May/June 2025, CUET UG will be administered as a computer-based test (CBT) at various exam centres across the country.

CUET UG Paper pattern
Section 1 – Language: 50 questions | 60 minutes (for all subjects)
Section 2 – Domain-Specific Subjects: 50 questions
Section 3 – General Aptitude Test: 50 questions
The CUET UG examination will be available in 13 languages: English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.
CUET UG 2025: Eligibility criteria
There are no age restrictions for CUET UG 2025. Candidates who have completed or are currently enrolled in Class 12 (or an equivalent exam) in 2025 are eligible to apply, regardless of their age. However, candidates must meet any age requirements set by the university or institution they wish to attend.
CUET UG admissions will be available in 46 central universities, 40 state universities, 30 deemed universities, and 161 private universities, totaling 277 institutions. Additionally, 10 national-level institutes with campuses nationwide will also accept students through CUET UG.
