Acer is re-entering the smartphone market with two entry-level devices, the Acerpure Acerone Liquid S162E4 and S272E4, set to launch on March 25. The S162E4 features a 6.5-inch HD+ LCD, a Mediatek Helio P35 chipset, 4 GB RAM, 64 GB storage, a 16 MP rear camera, and a 5 MP front camera, powered by a 5,000 mAh battery. The S272E4 has a larger 6.74-inch HD+ display, a Helio G36 chipset, and a 20 MP main rear camera, while retaining similar specs in RAM and battery. Both devices will run Android 14 and are expected to be priced under $100.
Acer is making its comeback in the smartphone market, and we now have details on the first two models set to launch on March 25. The devices are named Acerpure Acerone Liquid S162E4 and Acerpure Acerone Liquid S272E4, which are indeed their official titles.
Both smartphones feature entry-level specifications, including an older Mediatek chipset from six years ago.

This model will sport a 6.5″ LCD display with HD+ resolution and a waterdrop notch for the selfie camera. It is powered by the Helio P35 chipset, paired with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage. The rear camera features a 16 MP sensor, while the front camera will capture 5 MP images.
The device houses a 5,000 mAh battery and has a USB-C connection. It will run on Android 14 and will include FM Radio, Bluetooth functionality, and a hybrid dual nano SIM slot.
The S162E4 will be available in one color option: Blue. The power button is located below the volume rocker on the right side and appears to also function as a fingerprint scanner due to its flat design. While the pricing hasn’t been disclosed yet, it is expected to be under $100, amounting to no more than INR 9,000.

This device features a larger 6.74” LCD display while maintaining the HD+ resolution and a waterdrop notch that houses a 5 MP front camera. The rear camera system includes a dual setup with a primary 20 MP shooter.
Interestingly, the S272E4 is equipped with an even less powerful chipset. It features the MT6765X model, known as the Helio G36, which was introduced just two years ago. Like its counterpart, it comes with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage. The S272E4 also shares a 5,000 mAh battery and runs on Android 14.
It remains unclear whether these smartphones are genuine Acer products, as they may be licensed models produced by an ODM, leveraging the popularity of the Taiwanese brand. More details will be revealed on March 25 when the devices are launched on Amazon.
