Dario Franchitti believes that introducing a two-stop strategy in racing could enhance excitement by encouraging drivers to take risks and make strategic calls during pit stops. He suggests this change may lead to more dynamic racing rather than a straightforward drive to the finish. Similarly, Alpine driver Pierre Gasly acknowledges the potential for unknown opportunities with the new strategy, emphasizing the importance of qualifying. He notes that despite uncertainties, qualifying performance will still play a crucial role in determining race outcomes and that adapting to new strategies will be essential for success.
“This will likely add some excitement. Typically, if you have a solid pit stop and everything goes smoothly, you can push to the finish, just needing to focus on avoiding the barriers.
“With a two-stop strategy, there could be more unpredictability, with people taking risks and trying to determine the best time to pit, which will hopefully enhance the excitement.”

Alpine driver Pierre Gasly shared similar thoughts, noting: “I see potential opportunities and some uncertainties that we should welcome instead of fearing.
“Ultimately, I’m not entirely sure if anyone really knows how this will play out – it might not result in significant changes. What remains critical is Qualifying; if you nail it there, you’ve accomplished a considerable part of the task.
“I’m confident it will create new strategic possibilities, which we need to stay ahead of.”
