AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT Revealed: Priced at $300 for 8GB VRAM and $350 for 16GB

AMD has introduced the Radeon RX 9060 XT, targeting Nvidia’s RTX 5060 and 5060 Ti with competitive pricing. Available in 8GB and 16GB VRAM configurations, the RX 9060 XT features 32 compute units and higher clock speeds (2,530MHz game, 3,130MHz boost). It delivers 25.6 TFLOPS computing power and consumes only 150W for the 8GB version, 160W for the 16GB. Equipped with a 128-bit bus and 32MB Infinity Cache, it supports PCIe 5.0, DisplayPort 2.1a, and HDMI 2.1b. Pricing starts at $300 for the 8GB model and $350 for 16GB, undercutting Nvidia’s offerings.

AMD has revealed its competitor to the Nvidia RTX 5060 and 5060 Ti, named the AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT. It offers options of 8GB or 16GB of VRAM, both priced lower than the 5060 Ti.

The RX 9060 XT essentially features half of the specifications found in the RX 9070 XT. It includes 32 compute units, 32 ray accelerators, and 64 AI accelerators, while operating at slightly higher clock speeds of 2,530MHz for game frequency and 3,130MHz for boost frequency. The card achieves a peak single precision compute of 25.6 TFLOPS. For AI workloads, it offers 410 TOPS of INT8 and 821 TOPS of INT4 compute.

As previously mentioned, the card comes with either 8GB or 16GB of GDDR6 memory on a 128-bit bus (up to 320GB/s), and features 32MB of Infinity Cache, which is half of what the 9070 XT offers. Moreover, this model uses significantly less power, with a Total Board Power (TBP) of 150W for the 8GB version and slightly higher at 160W for the 16GB version.

The Radeon RX 9060 XT is an RDNA 4 card with comprehensive support for FSR 4 upscaling, aided by FP8 acceleration support. It connects via a full PCIe 5.0 x16 interface, making it compatible for those with older motherboards that only have legacy PCIe slots. An 8-pin connector is also included for extra power supply.

Connectivity options on the card include DisplayPort 2.1a and HDMI 2.1b, along with support for encoding and decoding H265 and AV1 videos.

It’s important to note that the images shown are merely 3D renders; AMD will not be producing its own 9060 XT cards. Instead, they will be available from partners such as Acer, ASRock, Asus, Gigabyte, PowerColor, Sapphire, Vastarmor, XFX, and Yeston later this year.

The MSRP for the AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT 8GB is set at $300, while the 16GB model is priced at $350. In comparison, the 8GB RTX 5060 Ti from Nvidia has an MSRP of $380, with the 16GB version at $430. The non-Ti 5060 with 8GB VRAM is available for $300.
