Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7’s full-width cover screen revealed in One UI 8 leak.

Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip series has evolved its cover display significantly over generations. The original Z Flip featured a minimal display for notifications, while the Z Flip3 and Z Flip4 introduced a two-line text capability. The Z Flip5 and Z Flip6 expanded this to a 3.4” screen. Anticipated changes in the upcoming Z Flip7 include a larger 4” edge-to-edge cover display with minimal bezels and a 6.85” inner screen. It will also have a slight battery increase and retain a 25W charging capacity. The Z Flip7 aims to enhance both its design and functionality significantly.

Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip series has seen significant upgrades over time, especially regarding its cover display. The original Z Flip featured a very small screen, just sufficient for a handful of notification icons. The Z Flip3, which is the second generation, improved this to accommodate two lines of text, a change mirrored in the Z Flip4 as well. With the Z Flip5 and Z Flip6, the display size increased to a more functional 3.4” – large enough for app usage, but still sporting substantial bezels.

According to leaks, the new cover display will measure 4”, with minimal unused space taken up by the dual camera lenses and LED flash.

The Galaxy Z Flip7 is rumored to have a larger 6.85” main display, up from the 6.7” on the Z Flip6. Reports suggest that the Z Flip7 will measure 166.6 x 75.2 x 6.9mm when open, making it wider than the Z Flip6, which is 165.1 x 71.9 x 6.9mm. This change, along with significantly thinner side bezels, promises a substantial upgrade for the cover display. Meanwhile, the Z Fold7 is expected to be remarkably slim, decreasing from 5.6mm to 3.9mm when unfolded.

The Z Flip7 is anticipated to see a slight increase in battery capacity by 300mAh (with charging remaining at 25W), and the camera setup should consist of the same 50MP wide and 12MP ultra-wide combination as before.
