A rumor from tipster Ice Universe suggests that Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold7 will launch as the thinnest foldable phone, measuring 8.9mm when folded and 3.9mm when unfolded. Currently, Oppo’s Find N5 is the thinnest, at 8.9mm folded and 4.2mm unfolded. Huawei’s Mate XT is even thinner at 3.6mm when unfolded. If accurate, the Z Fold7 will be a significant upgrade from the Z Fold6, which measures 12.1mm folded and 5.6mm unfolded. The Z Fold7 is also expected to retain a 4,400mAh battery capacity, as confirmed by UL Demko.
A recent rumor from well-known Samsung leaker Ice Universe suggests that the Galaxy Z Fold7 will become the slimmest foldable phone upon its launch later this year. According to a new post on X, the Galaxy Z Fold7 will measure 8.9mm when folded and an impressive 3.9mm when unfolded. For comparison, the current thinnest foldable, Oppo’s Find N5, measures 8.9mm and 4.2mm in those states, respectively.
Huawei’s Mate XT boasts a mere 3.6mm thickness when unfolded, which would surpass the Z Fold7. Nevertheless, if these rumors are accurate, the Z Fold7 will represent a significant improvement over the Z Fold6, which is 12.1mm when folded and 5.6mm when unfolded, as well as the Z Fold Special Edition exclusive to South Korea and China, measuring 10.6mm and 4.9mm, respectively.
Earlier speculation indicated that the Z Fold7 would measure 4.5mm when unfolded and 8.2mm when folded. Additionally, the new report reaffirms the Z Fold7’s 4,400mAh battery capacity, which was previously confirmed through a listing from UL Demko.
