The CMF Phone 2 Pro, priced at £220, is now available for pre-order, with sales commencing May 12. It features a 6.77” 1080p+ 120Hz OLED display, a Dimensity 7300 chipset, and a versatile camera setup including a 50MP telephoto lens. Alternatives include the CMF Phone 1 for £170, the more advanced Nothing Phone (3a) at a higher price with OIS, and the Poco X7, offering better water resistance and higher specs for just £10 more. Additionally, there are deals on the Pixel 9 series and Samsung Galaxy watches, with discounts for Prime members.
The CMF Phone 2 Pro was announced on Monday and is now available for pre-order, with sales commencing on May 12, which is two weeks from now. In the meantime, let’s explore some alternatives along with Pixel deals and Galaxy Watch promotions.
The CMF Phone 2 Pro starts at £220, which is quite affordable. Alternatively, you can buy the original CMF Phone 1 for £50 less. Is it a good deal? The Phone 1 features a slightly smaller display (6.67” vs. 6.77”) and while it boasts a 1080p+ 120Hz OLED, its peak brightness is lower (2,000 nits vs. 3,000 nits) and it lacks HDR10+ support like the Pro model. It runs on a similar Dimensity 7300 chipset, offers expandable storage, and has the same 5,000mAh battery with 33W charging.
The main selling point for the Pro version is its camera system – the Phone 1 has only a single 50MP main camera at the back. In contrast, the Pro features a 50MP main camera with a sizable 1/1.57” sensor (though it lacks OIS), a 50MP 50mm telephoto lens, and an 8MP ultra-wide lens. Additionally, a new attachable back includes MagSafe magnets (even without wireless charging, it’s beneficial for car docks and attaching accessories) and serves as a mount for macro and fisheye lenses. Plus, the Pro model supports NFC!

Some users have expressed a desire for features like OIS. For that, you’ll need to look at the Nothing Phone (3a), which is priced 50% higher. However, it offers the same display and cameras (this time, with OIS on the main camera) along with an upgraded Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset. Charging has been enhanced to 50W, though it’s still wired only. You also benefit from the Glyph lights on the back.

Now, a 50% price increase might be excessive, and you still won’t get features like eSIM (only available on the 3a Pro). What about the previous model? The Nothing Phone (2a) is still available and is actually priced lower than the CMF Phone 2 Pro. It sports a comparable 6.7” OLED display with HDR, along with Glyph lights and 45W charging for its 5,000mAh battery. It doesn’t have a telephoto camera, but how often would you need a 50mm lens anyway? Furthermore, the 50MP main camera does have OIS, and there’s also a high-resolution 50MP ultra-wide. The Dimensity 7200 Pro is only slightly slower, but you won’t have the microSD slot.

The Poco X7 runs on a very similar Dimensity 7300 chipset as the CMF Phone 2 Pro and offers greater RAM and significantly more storage (12/512GB) for just £10 additional compared to the CMF. While it lacks a microSD slot, the 512GB internal storage mitigates that concern. The Poco boasts proper water resistance (IP69 vs. IP54) and features a superior 6.67” 12-bit 1220p+ display with Dolby Vision. Its 50MP main camera includes OIS, albeit with a smaller 1/1.95” sensor, accompanied solely by an 8MP ultra-wide camera – there’s no telephoto lens. The battery also has a bit more capacity and charges faster at 5,110mAh with 45W charging.

If you have a bigger budget, the Poco X7 Pro upgrades to a Dimensity 8400 Ultra (with all large Cortex-A725 cores) and features a 6,000mAh battery with 90W charging. The camera specs remain the same as the X7, which means they’re not as impressive as those found on the CMF.

A couple of weeks back, we shared some deals on the Pixel 9 series. The Pixel 9a offer remains the same as before, including a complimentary pair of Pixel Buds A-Series.
The rest of the Pixel 9 models (the non-foldable varieties) have similar deals to earlier with slight modifications – first, there’s a £100 coupon available to purchase a Pixel Watch 3, and second, the standard Pixel 9 is now £50 pricier than it was a couple of weeks ago. Be sure to check our comparative reviews on Pixel 9 vs. 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro vs. 9 Pro XL for comprehensive insights.

Regarding the Google Pixel Watch 3, it’s currently on sale with a discount of £70, which can go up to £170 if purchased with a Pixel 9, 9 Pro, or 9 Pro XL.

If you prefer Samsung wearables, the Galaxy Watch Ultra, Watch7, and Watch6 Classic (featuring a rotating bezel) are available at discounts up to £150 for those with an active Prime subscription. Prime Students can also receive extra discounts on the latter two models.
