Sales Update: Poco F7 Pro and F7 Ultra Receive Price Reductions; CMF Phone 2 Pro Now Available for Pre-Order

The Poco F7 Pro, a “flagship killer,” is now discounted by €100, featuring a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, a 6.67” 1440p+ Dolby Vision display, and a 6,000mAh battery with 90W charging. The camera includes a 50MP main and 8MP ultra-wide. The Poco F7 Ultra, with a €50 discount, adds improved camera specs but has a smaller battery. The CMF Phone 2 Pro, launching soon at €250, offers a 50MP camera setup, expandable storage, and an attachable back for accessories. Alternatives include Nothing Phone (3a) and Motorola Edge 50, both offering competitive features at similar price points.

The Poco F7 Pro has recently been available for a month and has already seen a price drop of €100. This smartphone is categorized as a “flagship killer,” featuring a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and a 6.67” 1440p+ display (12-bit, Dolby Vision). It comes equipped with a robust 6,000mAh battery that supports 90W fast charging and has an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. However, its camera setup is quite standard, with a 50MP main camera (1/1.55”, OIS) and an 8MP ultra-wide lens.

The Poco F7 Ultra offers a genuine flagship experience, and although it has a more modest discount of €50, it ranks as one of the most affordable phones featuring the Snapdragon 8 Elite. Notable improvements include a 50MP 2.5x (60mm) telephoto lens and an upgraded ultra-wide 32MP sensor. While the battery capacity is reduced to 5,300mAh, it supports extremely fast charging at 120W wired and 50W wireless. For a thorough comparison, read our Poco F7 Pro vs. F7 Ultra article.

Poco F7 Ultra

The CMF Phone 2 Pro was introduced on Monday and is now available for pre-order, with sales starting on May 12 (two weeks from Monday). Each purchase comes with a complimentary pair of CMF Buds 2, which were launched alongside the smartphone.

CMF Phone 2 Pro (pre-order)

Here are the buds on their own, featuring excellent noise cancellation, Dirac Opteo tuning, multi-point connectivity, and more, all at an appealing price.

CMF Buds 2

The CMF Phone 2 Pro is priced at €250, making it quite affordable. Alternatively, you can opt for the original CMF Phone 1 at a discount of €70. Is it worth considering? It features a slightly smaller display (6.67” vs. 6.77”). While it does have a 1080p+ 120Hz OLED, its peak brightness is lower (2,000 nits vs. 3,000 nits) and it lacks HDR10+ support unlike the Pro model. Both phones use the Dimensity 7300 chipset, though, and share the same 5,000mAh battery with 33W charging.

The Pro model shines with its superior camera capabilities—the Phone 1 offers just a 50MP main camera. The Pro, in contrast, has a 50MP main lens with a sizable 1/1.57” sensor (no OIS), a 50MP telephoto lens, and an 8MP ultra-wide. An innovative attachable back provides MagSafe compatibility (no wireless charging, but useful for car docks and attachments) and serves as a mount for two additional lenses: macro and fisheye. Moreover, the Pro version includes NFC!

Nothing CMF Phone 1

Some users have expressed a desire for features like OIS. To get that, you would need the Nothing Phone (3a), which is priced at €80 more. Compared to the CMF Phone 2 Pro, it has the same display and camera specifications (with OIS added to the main camera) and a more robust Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 processor. Charging speed is boosted to 50W, although it remains wired. Additionally, it features Glyph lights on the back.

Nothing Phone (3a)

What about the older model—the Nothing Phone (2a) is still available and is actually more affordable than the CMF Phone 2 Pro. It features a comparable 6.7” OLED display, HDR support, Glyph lights, and 45W charging for its 5,000mAh battery. Although it lacks a telephoto lens, how essential is a 50mm lens anyway? Furthermore, the 50MP main camera includes OIS, paired with a high-resolution 50MP ultra-wide lens. The Dimensity 7200 Pro performs slightly slower, but it does not have a microSD slot.

Nothing Phone (2a)

The Poco X7 runs on the same Dimensity 7300 chipset found in the CMF Phone 2 Pro, but offers more RAM and significantly more storage (12/512GB) for just €20 extra compared to the CMF. Although there is no microSD expansion, 512GB of built-in storage mitigates this limitation. The Poco features genuine water resistance (IP69 vs. IP54) and boasts a superior 6.67” 12-bit 1220p+ display with Dolby Vision. Its 50MP main camera includes OIS, though it uses a smaller 1/1.95” sensor and is only accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide—no telephoto lens here. The battery is slightly larger and charges faster at 5,110mAh with a capacity of 45W.

Poco X7

For those with a bigger budget, the Poco X7 Pro upgrades to a Dimensity 8400 Ultra (with all major Cortex-A725 cores) and includes a 6,000mAh battery with 90W charging. However, it retains the same camera setup as the X7, which is not quite as impressive as that of the CMF.

Poco X7 Pro

Last year’s Motorola Edge 50 Fusion sports a curved 6.7” 1080p+ OLED display (10-bit, 144Hz) and offers a solid IP68 rating. It is equipped with the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2, which is comparable to the Dimensity 7300, but lacks expandable storage and is limited to two remaining OS updates. The 50MP main camera (1/1.56” sensor) features OIS and is paired with a 13MP ultra-wide lens; however, there is no telephoto option. The device is powered by a 5,000mAh battery that supports faster 68W wired charging.

Another similarly priced option is the Redmi Note 14 5G, which lacks a telephoto lens but features a 108MP main camera with OIS and a 3x zoom mode (albeit not particularly impressive). The phone is powered by the Dimensity 7025 Ultra and includes a microSD slot along with a 3.5mm headphone jack. On the downside, it only has one OS update remaining.
