Samsung is rolling out One UI 7, based on Android 15, after delays, with One UI 8, based on Android 16, expected soon. The upcoming update will feature an AI tool that summarizes online videos directly within Samsung’s Internet browser. Currently in testing, this feature will utilize the Snapdragon 8 Elite’s on-device capabilities for the Galaxy S25 series. Users can enable the tool through a specific debug setting, though it remains uncertain if it functions for all. The rollout of One UI 8 aims for timely accessibility, enhancing user experience with AI technology.
Samsung is in the midst of rolling out One UI 7 based on Android 15 to its devices, after a prolonged delay. Next in line is One UI 8, based on Android 16, which we hope will arrive more promptly.
When it launches, it will feature the capability to AI summarize any online video using Samsung’s integrated Internet browser. This functionality was discovered during its current testing phase.
Once implemented, users will be able to AI summarize any online video found in Samsung’s browser, and on the Galaxy S25 series, the AI processing will occur entirely on-device, utilizing the power of the Snapdragon 8 Elite.
If you’d like to experiment with this, you can enter internet://debug in the address bar of Samsung Internet, hit Go, then tap the three-line menu in the bottom right corner, navigate to Settings, go to Debug settings > Single module tests > AI Summarize Settings, and tap Enable Video Summarize at the bottom of the list.
It goes without saying that this should be approached with caution; the feature’s availability for everyone is still uncertain—it is meant solely for testing. Nevertheless, we all eagerly await the hopefully timely rollout of One UI 8, when this feature should be fully accessible to all.
