Abdul Carter is already giving off vibes of a New York Giant.

Abdul Carter, a standout edge defender from Penn State, appears eager to join the New York Giants if selected with the No. 3 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. He expressed excitement about potentially teaming up with players like Kayvon Thibodeaux and Brian Burns, stating he would fully embrace being a Giant and leave his Philadelphia Eagles fandom behind. Giants GM Joe Schoen acknowledges Carter as a top prospect, emphasizing the value of adding elite pass rushers. Despite a need for a quarterback, Schoen indicated they would make room for Carter on the field, fueling speculation about potential trades involving Thibodeaux.

Abdul Carter, the edge defender from Penn State, appears to be anticipating his potential selection by the New York Giants with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft this Thursday night.

“Yeah, it would be a blessing to play alongside those guys,” Carter expressed to NJ Advance Media when discussing the prospect of teaming up with Kayvon Thibodeaux and Brian Burns. “I’m ready to compete, and together we’ll create the best pass rush in the league.”

“Once I’m in New York, I’ll be fully New York,” he stated when asked how being drafted by the Giants at No. 3 would influence his previous loyalty to the Eagles. “I’ll have to put Philly behind me.”

Giants GM Joe Schoen might very well make that dream a reality on Thursday night. Carter is the elite prospect most likely to be on the board for New York. Despite the team’s needs at quarterback, Schoen noted last week that “you don’t pass on that caliber of player.”

Even with Burns and Thibodeaux firmly established on the edge, Schoen mentioned that the Giants “would find a way” to utilize Carter on the field if they choose to draft him.

“You can never have too many pass rushers,” the GM remarked.

There has been some speculation that the Giants might consider using Thibodeaux as part of a trade package to move back into Round 1 for a quarterback if they pick Carter at No. 3.
