The Pixel 9a includes free Pixel Buds A-series but lacks a discount. Despite similarities with the Pixel 9, it has notable downgrades. The Pixel 9 features a £250 discount, boasting better specs like increased RAM and improved camera hardware. The more advanced Pixel 9 Pro offers a sharper display and additional RAM, while the flagship Pixel 9 Pro XL comes with a larger screen and faster charging. Foldable options, including the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, remain high-priced despite discounts.

While the Google Pixel 9a doesn’t come with a traditional discount, it does include a complimentary pair of Pixel Buds A-series. Similar to the Pixel 9, the 9a utilizes the same Tensor G4 chipset and features an IP68-rated aluminum frame. However, in order to provide a more affordable option, the “a” version has some reduced specifications.
The Google Pixel 9 is seeing a substantial £250 discount, bringing the base model to just £50 more than the Pixel 9a. Many believe this price increase is justified. For instance, it offers 4GB additional RAM and features GG Victus 2 glass instead of GG3. The camera setup is also significantly enhanced, boasting a larger 1/1.31” main sensor (compared to 1/2.0”) and a 48MP ultra-wide lens (versus 13MP). While it has a smaller battery, it charges faster at 4,700mAh with 27W wired and 15W wireless compared to the 5,100mAh with 23W wired and 7.5W wireless of its predecessor.
Upgrading to the more advanced Pixel 9 Pro involves a significant price jump. However, for the extra cost, you gain an additional 4GB of RAM and a superior LTPO display, maintaining the same 6.3” size as the other models.
