Nintendo has announced that pre-orders for its Switch 2 console will open on April 24, 2025, in the US, priced at $450 for the console-only package and $500 for the bundle with Mario Kart World. Most accessories have seen price increases of $5 or more, with a 256GB Samsung microSD Express Card available for $60. Notably, game prices remain the same at $80 for Mario Kart World and $70 for Donkey Kong Bananza. The price hikes are attributed to US tariffs, although Nintendo refers to them as “changes in market conditions.” The console launches on June 5, 2025.

One accessory that wasn’t mentioned initially is a 256GB Samsung microSD Express Card for the Switch 2, which will cost $60.
Aside from the console, the only items not impacted by price changes are the games, which continue to retail at $80 for Mario Kart World and $70 for Donkey Kong Bananza. Many feel these prices were excessive even before the adjustments.
