The Poco F7 series includes only Pro and Ultra models, with some considering the Poco X7 Pro a better value than the F7 Pro. The X7 Pro starts at €320, featuring a unique Dimensity 8400 Ultra chip, a premium 1220p+ display, and higher IP69 rating, but a downgraded plastic frame. Its camera system is decent, with a 50MP main sensor, and a 6,000mAh battery with 90W charging. The older Poco F6 offers similar features for €20 less, while the vanilla X7 has notably lower performance. For tablets, the new iPads and Xiaomi Pads have slight performance differences but wider pricing gaps. The Amazon Fire Max 11 is well-suited for streaming and light gaming.
The latest F7 series from Poco does not include a standard model – it features only Pro and Ultra variants. In terms of value for money, which is the brand’s main selling point, many consider the Poco X7 Pro to offer better value than the F7 Pro.
Currently, the Poco X7 Pro starts at €320, with an option to add 4GB of RAM for an additional €20, and doubling the storage for another €20. Although it isn’t exactly a flagship chip, the Dimensity 8400 Ultra stands out with its eight Cortex-A725 cores. The display is impressive too, boasting a 1220p+ resolution, 12-bit colors, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision support.
The plastic frame is a step down compared to the F7 Pro, yet this model boasts a superior IP rating of IP69. The camera setup is fairly standard (50MP 1/1.95” main, 8MP ultra-wide, and 20MP selfie), but it closely resembles what the F-phone offers. The battery is similar as well, featuring a 6,000mAh Si/C capacity and 90W wired-only charging.
Before making a decision on the X7 Pro, you might want to consider the older Poco F6. While it uses a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 and doesn’t quite match the speed of the X7 Pro, it still performs admirably and shares the same display and camera system. The battery is slightly smaller at 5,000mAh (but still supports 90W charging), and it has a basic IP64 water resistance rating. With only a €20 price difference between the two, we would recommend opting for the newer X7 Pro.
There’s also the standard Poco X7, priced about €70 cheaper than the Pro. While that sounds appealing, it’s important to note that the Dimensity 7300 Ultra represents a significant downgrade in performance (and it comes with UFS 2.2 storage, while the Pro boasts UFS 4.0), in addition to a battery with 5,110mAh capacity and 45W charging. The display and cameras are quite similar, but the performance decrease makes us favor the Pro.
Last year, Apple introduced new iPad Air models equipped with the M2 chip, followed by updates with M3 models this year. However, iPadOS doesn’t fully utilize the additional performance, unlike macOS, so the differences between generations may not be stark.
The iPad Air 13 (2024) is priced between €125 and €230 less than the equivalent 2025 model, depending on the storage option. Perhaps you’d prefer having extra storage over extra performance.
In a similar vein, the smaller iPad Air 11 (2024) costs €120-€160 less than its more recent counterpart.
If you’re looking for Android tablets, both the Xiaomi Pad 7 and Pad 7 Pro are currently available at a €70 discount. Each model features 11.2” IPS LCDs (144Hz, 12-bit, Dolby Vision) with stylus compatibility, quad speakers, and 8,850mAh batteries. The key distinction lies in the chipset – the vanilla model has a Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3, while the Pro is equipped with a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3.
The Pro variant also offers superior cameras (rear: 50MP vs. 13MP, front: 32MP vs. 8MP) and faster charging capabilities (67W vs. 45W), but it comes at an additional cost of €50. Regarding performance, the Pro holds only a marginal advantage, despite its upgraded chipset.
Lastly, the Amazon Fire Max 11 serves as an excellent streaming tablet suitable for work and light gaming. It features a high-quality 11” IPS LCD (2,000 x 1,200px, 60Hz) and stereo speakers. Storage can be expanded if you prefer local media over streaming options. Do note that this version contains ads, but they can be removed for an additional €15.
