The US tech market faces uncertainty from potential tariffs impacting electronics prices, yet fresh discounts are available. The Samsung Galaxy A36 is now priced at $340, featuring a 6.7” 1080p+ display, Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor, and a 50MP main camera. Meanwhile, the CMF Phone 1 offers modest discounts, with a 6.67” 120Hz OLED display and 5,000mAh battery, but only 2 OS updates. Samsung has launched new FE tablets featuring Exynos 1580 processors. The Galaxy Tab S10 FE offers a 10.9” display while the iPad Air 11 (2025), with M3 chipset, is priced similarly but has limitations compared to Samsung tablets.
The technology market in the United States is currently facing a wave of uncertainty as tariffs imposed on crucial manufacturing hubs could lead to rising prices for electronics. Fortunately, this hasn’t occurred yet—there are even some new models offering appealing discounts.
The Samsung Galaxy A36 was launched just a couple of weeks ago, and although it was retailing at its manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) of $400 as recently as last week, it has now been reduced to $340, making it a much more attractive option.
This model boasts an impressive long-term software support policy, offering 6 OS updates, and comes equipped with the newly updated One UI 7 right out of the box. It features a 6.7” 1080p+ display, a 5,000mAh battery (now supporting 45W charging), a plastic frame with Gorilla Glass Victus+ on both the front and back, and an IP67 rating for water and dust resistance. Powering the device is the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, and storage is non-expandable. The A36 also sports a 50MP main camera with OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 12MP selfie camera capable of 4K video recording on both ends.
CMF has hinted at an upcoming Pro model, but for now, we only have the CMF Phone 1, which is currently available at a modest discount. This is the 8/256GB version, and unlike the Samsung model, it features a microSD slot for expandable storage. The Dimensity 7300 offers comparable performance to the Snapdragon, while the 6.67” 120Hz OLED display is similar too—though it lacks the durability of toughened glass. The battery is also 5,000mAh but supports 33W charging. However, the CMF Phone will only receive 2 OS updates, launched with Android 14.

Samsung has also introduced new Fan Edition (FE) tablets that are now available for purchase. Both devices are powered by the new Exynos 1580 processor, which is also featured in the upcoming Galaxy A56 (set to launch soon in the US), and both boast 90Hz IPS LCD displays.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 FE features a 10.9” 1440p+ display and a robust 8,000mAh battery with 45W charging capabilities. This latest generation is thinner and lighter than its predecessor, the Tab S9 FE (6.0mm thick, weighing 497g compared to 6.5mm and 523g, respectively).

The Galaxy Tab S10 FE+ has increased in size, featuring a 13.1” 1800p+ display, while its battery capacity remains at 10,090mAh (same as the Tab S9 FE+). This new version does not include an ultra-wide camera but does come with an upgraded 13MP main camera on the rear. Notably, both tablets come bundled with an S Pen and offer expandable storage options.

The newly released Apple iPad Air 11 (2025) featuring the Apple M3 chipset is just $50 more than the Galaxy Tab S10 FE. Its 11” IPS LCD operates at 60Hz, while the Tab’s 90Hz is only slightly better. The iPad supports multitasking with external monitors using the Stage Manager feature, whereas the Galaxy tablet lacks this capability (it does have DeX but only supports USB 2.0).

The Apple iPad Air 13 (2025) is priced higher than its similarly-sized counterpart, the Galaxy S10 FE+. Like the 11” version, it also utilizes the Apple M3 chip, which has shown impressive performance in Mac devices—however, the limitation here is that iPadOS is not as versatile as macOS.

Apple has also refreshed the base model iPad, equipping it with an A16 chipset. While this is faster than the A14 in the 2022 iPad, its performance and RAM constraints mean it lacks the advanced AI capabilities. Conversely, Samsung’s Galaxy AI is present in both Tab S10 FE models, while the iPad Air models also feature AI functionalities.
