Duke Energy reported over 200 power outages affecting more than 41,000 customers across several counties in North Carolina and South Carolina. In North Carolina, Buncombe County has the highest count with 14,991 outages, estimated to be restored by 10 a.m. Sunday, while Jackson County expects restoration by 6 a.m. Monday. Other counties like Haywood and Henderson report thousands affected, with restoration times still under assessment. In South Carolina, Greenville County has about 5,620 without power, with restoration forecasts also pending. Duke Energy continues to monitor the situation and provide updates on the outages.
BUNCOMBE COUNTY, N.C. (FOX Carolina) – Duke Energy has reported more than 200 outages impacting various counties in North Carolina.
According to Duke Energy, these outages are disrupting service for over 41,000 customers.
As of 5:10 a.m. on Sunday, the counties affected in Western North Carolina and the Upstate include:
NC – Buncombe County:
- 14,991 customers experiencing power loss
- Estimated restoration time is Sunday, 10 a.m.
NC – Graham County:
- 32 customers experiencing power loss
- Estimated restoration time is currently being assessed
NC – Haywood County:
- 4,767 customers experiencing power loss
- Estimated restoration time is currently being assessed
NC – Henderson County:
- 4,428 customers experiencing power loss
- Estimated restoration time is currently being assessed
NC – Jackson County:
- 7,893 customers experiencing power loss
- Estimated restoration time is Monday, 6 a.m.
NC – Macon County:
- 3,085 customers experiencing power loss
- Estimated restoration time is currently being assessed
NC – Madison County:
- 6 customers experiencing power loss
- Estimated restoration time is currently being assessed
NC – McDowell County:
- 1,070 customers experiencing power loss
- Estimated restoration time is currently being assessed
NC – Mitchell County:
- 356 customers experiencing power loss
- Estimated restoration time is currently being assessed
NC – Polk County:
- 18 customers experiencing power loss
- Estimated restoration time is currently being assessed
NC – Swain County:
- 93 customers experiencing power loss
- Estimated restoration time is currently being assessed
NC – Transylvania County:
- 7,753 customers experiencing power loss
- Estimated restoration time is currently being assessed
NC – Yancey County:
- 4 customers experiencing power loss
- Estimated restoration time is currently being assessed
SC – Anderson County:
- 390 customers experiencing power loss
- Estimated restoration time is currently being assessed
SC – Greenville County:
