Vivo is preparing to launch the X200 Ultra, currently expected to be exclusive to China. However, reports indicate that Vivo India is advocating for its release in India, alongside the officially announced X200 Pro mini. While nothing is confirmed yet, the push follows the X200 Pro’s successful sales, allegedly selling out in India and prompting requests for more units. Vivo executives mentioned their confidence in competing in the ultra-premium segment after positive performance of models like the X Fold3 Pro. Last year’s X100 Ultra did not launch in India, but Vivo aims to retain its leading smartphone brand status amidst competition.
vivo is set to launch the X200 Ultra shortly, with the unfortunate news that it is initially expected to be limited to the Chinese market. However, a recent report suggests that vivo India is advocating for its release in India as well, alongside the already announced X200 Pro mini.
To clarify, nothing has been confirmed as of now; it remains to be seen whether vivo’s Indian division can persuade the headquarters in China that this is a beneficial decision. The rationale for this push stems from the “successful market performance” of the X200 Pro in India.

During MWC in Barcelona earlier this month, vivo executives reportedly informed “partners” that the X200 Pro had “completely sold out” in India, which led to requests for additional units from their manufacturing plants. The X Fold3 Pro has also been reportedly successful in India, further boosting vivo’s confidence in its potential to compete in the ultra-premium smartphone market.
It’s worth noting that the X100 Ultra did not make its way to India last year, even after being showcased at its Tech Day event. Nonetheless, vivo is currently the leading smartphone brand in India, and it likely wishes to maintain that position even in the high-end segment, rather than ceding ground to competitors like Xiaomi, which has just revealed the 15 and 15 Ultra models for the Indian audience.
