‘Invincible’ to Feature Rematch Between Two Foes from ‘The Walking Dead’ in Series Finale

Invincible continues its star-studded trend with voice actors, famously having only one reject: Bryan Cranston. In an upcoming episode, Mark will face the villain Conquest, voiced by Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who infamously portrayed Negan in The Walking Dead. This adds a fun twist, as Morgan’s character will combat Steven Yeun’s Invincible, the actor who played Glenn. Following a fierce battle in the Invincible War, where crucial characters faced significant losses, the stakes remain high. Robert Kirkman promises the next episodes will be pivotal, leading to escalating tensions in a series that aims for eight seasons. Tune in next Thursday for the showdown.

It’s evident that Invincible is keen on enlisting as many celebrity voices as possible for the series. Intriguingly, they have had just one actor decline the offer, Bryan Cranston. This is quite humorous considering a recent scene that featured a character voiced by Jonathan Banks from Breaking Bad, arresting Aaron Paul, who also starred in Breaking Bad, through the hero and villain they portrayed.

Next week, Invincible is stirring things up even further by placing Mark in a confrontation with a well-known comic villain, a Viltrumite named Conquest. This battle promises to be one of the most thrilling yet in the series.

The exciting twist here is that Steven Yeun has voiced Invincible since the very beginning, but now Conquest will be voiced by the one and only Jeffrey Dean Morgan. This means we get Negan from The Walking Dead (Morgan) facing off against the character he infamously bashed in with a barbed wire baseball bat, Glenn (Yeun).

This is going to be an entertaining rematch, and it’s bound to be even more ferocious than simple bat swings (albeit animated rather than live-action) as they go head-to-head. Invincible has just battled numerous versions of himself in the Invincible War and, by the conclusion of this week’s episode, seems eager to take on Conquest, despite previously being overwhelmed by Anissa last season, who will undoubtedly return.

Robert Kirkman, who of course helmed The Walking Dead, has promised that the last two episodes will be the most significant and impactful of the series to date. The Invincible War certainly met those expectations, culminating in the loss of a key character, the heroic sacrifice of Rex Splode.

I cannot predict what will happen during the Conquest fight, except that Mark must manage to survive in some form, as I have deliberately avoided reading the comics. Yet, in this third season, we are still far from the eight seasons that Kirkman envisions, so as intense as it gets, the stakes are likely to rise even higher from here. Be sure to tune in next Thursday to see how it all unfolds, and Walking Dead fans can look forward to that long-awaited Glenn vs. Negan showdown.
