Twitch streamer and political commentator Hasan Piker, popularly known as HasanAbi, has criticized the rising campaign to reinstate Adin Ross on Twitch, deeming the online efforts as “obviously fake” and “forced.”
Ross, who faced an indefinite ban from the platform in 2023, is reportedly reaching out to several well-known streamers and claims to have had personal discussions to garner support for his return. While Ross asserts that the ban has negatively impacted his mental health, many remain skeptical of his alleged transformation.
“The Adin Ross needs to be unbanned meta is so obviously forced,” Hasan expressed during a recent livestream. He criticized Ross for trying to make a comeback after “a year of doing everything bad,” which included allegedly hosting individuals with extremist ideologies. “Now he’s like, ‘Oh, can we please unban me? I’ve changed my ways,’” he remarked, questioning the authenticity of Ross’s supposed reformation.
HasanAbi also pointed out that other controversial figures, such as Sneako and some members of FaZe Clan, are supporting Ross’s return. He regarded their backing as part of a larger trend in attempting to redeem online personas after years of contentious content.
While Ross currently streams on Kick, he continues to advocate for a return to Twitch. He has also recently addressed HasanAbi’s own controversies, including past comments aimed at U.S. Senator Rick Scott.
As the conversation regarding Ross’s potential reinstatement gains momentum, HasanAbi’s remarks underscore the broader tensions within the streaming community regarding accountability, redemption, and the responsibilities of platforms.
