IIFA 2025: Kartik Aaryan Discusses Hosting Duties After Succeeding Shah Rukh Khan: “It’s Quite Stressful”

He expressed feeling pressured after succeeding Shah Rukh Khan as host, noting the significance of the 25th anniversary celebration. The spectacular IIFA Awards night is currently taking place, with actor Kartik Aaryan fulfilling the role of host for this glamorous event. He has revealed the immense pressure he feels after “taking the baton” from the iconic Shah Rukh Khan.

In a conversation with the media, Kartik acknowledged the significant responsibility that comes with hosting, particularly since SRK has been the face of the event in the past.

“Yes, it’s a lot of pressure! He handed the baton over to me, which adds to the weight of it all. However, it was a really sweet moment, and I am genuinely thrilled. Hosting the IIFA is a major deal, especially in Jaipur, Rajasthan, and for the twenty-fifth-anniversary celebration, making it quite an important event. I hope to give it my all,” he remarked.

“Main bohot excited hoon! I’m really eager for the twenty-fifth year of IIFA. Aur main host kar raha hoon, and I couldn’t be more thrilled,” he continued.

Kartik also has additional reasons to celebrate, as his film Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 has garnered seven nominations at the event. Meanwhile, Kiran Rao’s Laapataa Ladies leads the pack with nine nominations.

The IIFA Digital Awards, held on March 8, saw significant wins for Kriti Sanon, Jitendra Kumar, Panchayat 3, and Amar Singh Chamkila.

The main IIFA Awards night, co-hosted by Kartik Aaryan and Karan Johar, commenced on March 9. MMA legend and combat sports star Anthony Pettis is scheduled to make a special appearance. The event will also showcase a performance by Kareena Kapoor Khan, who will honor her grandfather, the legendary filmmaker Raj Kapoor.

Earlier that day, the ceremony commemorated the 50th anniversary of the classic film Sholay with a special screening at the renowned Rajmandir Cinema.
