Rumored Reduction in Magic8’s Screen Size: Here Are the Details

Honor is expected to launch the Magic7 Mini around mid-2024, following the introduction of the Magic7 and Magic7 Pro in October 2023. Additionally, the Magic8 series is rumored for release in October 2024, featuring a slightly smaller 6.59″ display compared to the Magic7’s 6.78″. The Magic8 will maintain a “1.5K” screen resolution and utilize an LIPO OLED panel with a 120 Hz refresh rate. Notably, it will have ultra-narrow bezels—under 1mm—setting a new industry record. The device is likely to be powered by Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 processor.

Honor unveiled the Magic7 and Magic7 Pro back in October, and there are indications that a Magic7 Mini could be launched around the middle of this year. Following that, the Magic8 series is anticipated, with new rumors from China suggesting it may debut again around October.

Notably, the Magic8 will see a reduction in screen size, decreasing from 6.78″ to 6.59″ compared to its predecessor. The display resolution will maintain the “1.5K” standard typical of Honor smartphones, utilizing an LIPO OLED panel with a refresh rate of 120 Hz.

The screen will feature remarkably thin bezels on all four edges, reportedly measuring less than 1mm—setting a new record in the industry. Furthermore, it will be a flat display, which aligns with the current trend among Chinese smartphone manufacturers.

While those are the details revealed thus far, if past patterns hold true, we can expect the Magic8 to be equipped with the upcoming generation of Qualcomm’s premier SoC (possibly Snapdragon 8 Elite 2?).
