Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6 Receive an Update, but It’s Not What Users Expected

Samsung is launching the One UI 7 Beta for Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6 users in Korea, India, the UK, and the US. However, current users have reported receiving a software update notification that only includes a March security patch—versions F956NKSS2AYBD and F741NKSS2AYBD—of approximately 440MB. This update addresses 58 vulnerabilities while still maintaining One UI 6.1 software, disappointing users expecting the beta version. Users are encouraged to install the security update if notified, as it will be rolled out widely within the coming days, while the One UI 7 beta will also start its rollout shortly.

Samsung has announced the rollout of One UI 7 Beta for users of the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6 in Korea, along with India, the UK, and the US. Consequently, Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip users in Korea may be surprised when they receive a software update notification on their devices, only to find it to be just a security patch.

The updates, identified as versions F956NKSS2AYBD and F741NKSS2AYBD respectively, are approximately 440MB in size. This update still features One UI 6.1 software and includes the March security patch. It addresses 58 vulnerabilities, which is beneficial, but it’s not what users were eagerly anticipating.

It is highly recommended to install this update if a notification appears (if not, navigate to Settings > Software Update). Unlike the OS update, this one should be available to a wide audience, but it may take a few days to reach all users.

As for the One UI 7 beta, it is expected to begin rolling out today. However, bear in mind that it may take a few days to reach every eligible device in the initial wave of countries, so patience is advised.
