Tecno has launched the Megabook S14, a lightweight 14″ laptop weighing only 899g (1.98lbs). It features a version powered by the Snapragon X Elite 12-core chip, with performance capabilities reaching up to 4.0GHz. Alternatively, users can opt for Intel Core Ultra chips from the 5 and 7 series. The S14 boasts a 14″ OLED display with a 2800 x 1600px resolution at 120Hz and offers up to 16 hours of battery life on a 50Wh battery. It includes Wi-Fi 6E, a fingerprint reader, and an External Graphics Dock for enhanced performance. The device runs Windows 11 and comes equipped with an AI assistant.
Tecno is making waves in the tech world – following the launch of the Camon 40 series and AI smart glasses, the company is now focusing on laptops. Introducing the new Tecno Megabook S14, a super-portable 14” laptop that weighs just 899g (1.98lbs).
There’s more to the S14 than its lightweight design – it offers a version powered by the Snapdragon X Elite (X1E-80-100). This 12-core chip (featuring a custom Qualcomm CPU design) operates at speeds of up to 3.4GHz with multiple cores enabled or can reach 4.0GHz with two cores. The Adreno GPU delivers up to 3.8 TFLOPS of performance, while the Hexagon NPU can achieve up to 45 TOPS for AI functionalities (more details coming up).

If you lean towards x86, the Megabook S14 also comes with first and second generation Intel Core Ultra processors from the 5 and 7 series (255H, 225H, 155H, and 125H). These laptops feature LPDDR5 RAM and a 512GB SSD (NVMe, PCIe Gen 4). Regardless of your choice between ARM and x86, this laptop runs on Windows 11.
The device includes a 14” OLED display boasting a resolution of 2,800 x 1,600px running at 120Hz. This marks Tecno’s debut in the OLED laptop segment. A light sensor is incorporated to automatically adjust brightness levels. For sound, it is equipped with two 2W DTS:X Ultra speakers.
The S14 measures 313 x 214 x 14.2mm and weighs in at 899g as highlighted earlier. It features a 50Wh battery that supports charging at up to 65W (19V/3.42A) via USB-C. Tecno claims battery longevity of up to 16 hours on a single charge. Other notable features include Wi-Fi 6E connectivity and a fingerprint reader for secure unlocking.
Another intriguing aspect of the Megabook S14 is that Tecno plans to provide an External Graphics Dock equipped with a “powerful Nvidia graphics card,” aimed at enhancing gaming and content creation tasks; however, further details, including the specific GPU model, remain undisclosed.

Tecno has also developed its first AI model designed for on-device operation. Additionally, the Ella AI assistant can perform image searches, automatically create albums, transcribe recorded meetings (functioning offline), and assist in creating PowerPoint presentations.
