New Delhi:
Lootera, directed by Vikramaditya Motwane and featuring Sonakshi Sinha and Ranveer Singh as the leads, is set to make a comeback in theaters on March 7, 2025.
The film has gained a cult following since its initial release and is considered one of the finest performances by both Sonakshi and Ranveer. Originally debuting in 2013, the movie draws elements from O. Henry’s 1907 short story, “The Last Leaf.”
Vikramaditya Motwane took to Instagram to share a collection of behind-the-scenes images from the production.
The post showcases various candid shots of Sonakshi Sinha and Ranveer Singh, captured by Ishika Mohan Motwane.
In his post, Vikramaditya Motwane wrote a heartfelt caption.
He stated, “Lootera holds a personal significance for me. I believe it resonates with an entire generation of film enthusiasts like myself who experienced it during their teenage years or just as they stepped into adulthood—when love remains more of an ideal than a reality, filled with excitement and intrigue as we observe with wide-eyed wonder, only partially aware of its true essence. Whether we eventually grasp it or not, in the twelve years since we first witnessed Lootera, life unfolded. Some have fallen in love, others have lost that feeling, while some have tasted both.”
The director elaborated, “Experiencing the butterflies of romance and the ache of heartbreak became part of our journey. In today’s world, it’s often all too simple to drift away and lose faith in the concept of love altogether. That’s when you return to Lootera. To revisit its stunning and delicate realm of love and yearning, to reconnect with who you were upon first watching it. Ultimately, a film exists to evoke feelings. And gently, oh so gently, Lootera’s exquisite solitary leaf strives to restore your belief in all that is beautiful—reminding you of fundamental emotions, of what it means to be hopeful, and to love wholeheartedly, especially during times when you might feel you’ve neglected that aspect of life.”
He wrapped up by expressing, “The music, Mahendra Shetty’s cinematography, the sadness, the longing, and the hope. Lootera creates its own universe, and we are fortunate to experience it for a while, carrying it in our hearts for years to come.”
