All schools within the Charlotte-Mecklenburg district will remain closed on Wednesday, March 5. There will be no ASEP, extracurricular activities, facility usage, athletics, or before and after school programs.

Charlotte schools operate one of the largest public school transportation systems in North Carolina, and out of an abundance of caution, they will be closing schools.
What to anticipate
Strong wind gusts are anticipated, potentially reaching up to 50 mph during the morning commute, even outside of storm conditions.
Severe storms that could produce damaging wind gusts and the possibility of a tornado or two are expected to affect the entire area.
