Previously, the registration deadline was March 5, 2025. The final date for submitting applications is April 15, 2025. Applicants can make corrections to their forms from April 21-22, 2025. Admit cards will be issued on May 15, 2025.
The IISER entrance exam is intended for students seeking admission to IISER. This exam will take place in a computer-based format on May 25, 2025, at 9 am across various centers nationwide.
Eligibility criteria
Candidates should have completed their Class 12 (or equivalent) examination in 2023, 2024, or 2025 with a science stream from any board recognized by the Council of Boards of School Education (COBSE) in India.
It is mandatory for candidates to have studied at least three subjects from Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics during their Class 12 (or equivalent) exams.
For admission into specific programs, candidates must have Mathematics in their Class 12 (or equivalent): the 5-year BS-MS in Computational and Data Sciences program at IISER Kolkata, the 4-year B. Tech. program at IISER Bhopal, the 4-year BS in Economic Sciences program at IISER Bhopal, and the 4-year BS in Economic and Statistical Sciences program at IISER Tirupati.
Candidates from SC/ST/PwD categories need to obtain a minimum of 55 percent marks in aggregate or the equivalent grade in their Class 12 (or equivalent) examination, while candidates from other categories are required to secure at least 60 percent marks in aggregate or the equivalent grade in their Class 12 (or equivalent) examination.
Paper pattern
The IAT will feature 60 questions, with 15 questions from each of the following subjects: Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics. The total duration for the test will be 180 minutes and will consist of multiple-choice questions, each having only one correct answer.
