Affected exams include subjects from Classes 8 to 12, with specific subjects listed in an official notification. The board will announce new exam dates separately. Meanwhile, an orange alert for heavy rain, snow, and thunderstorms has been issued for Chamba, Kangra, and Lahaul and Spiti districts, emphasizing hazardous weather conditions despite a recent dry spell.
Himachal Pradesh Class 10, 12 Board Exams: The Himachal Pradesh School Education Board has announced the postponement of board exams in the Lahaul-Spiti region and Pangi in Chamba district until March 8 due to ongoing heavy rainfall and new snowfall.
The official notice states: “It is hereby notified that owing to significant rainfall and snowfall in the state, there has been considerable damage to roads and pathways in Pangi of Chamba district and Lahaul and Spiti district. In consideration of the students’ interests, the Board has made the decision to postpone the examinations.”

Class 8 (SOS): Himachal’s Folk Culture and Yoga, Sanskrit, Drawing, Home Science, Music, Punjabi, Urdu
Class 9: Mathematics, Social Science
Class 10 (Regular & SOS): Hindi, Music, Financial Literacy, English
Class 11: English, Public Administration, Geography
Class 12: Economics, Physics, Public Administration, Financial Literacy, English
“The new dates for the postponed examinations will be announced by the Board separately. In other parts of the state, exams will proceed as scheduled according to the date list issued by the Board,” the official notification continues.
The Local Meteorological Station has also issued an orange alert for heavy rain, snow, thunderstorms, and lightning in isolated areas of Himachal Pradesh. This alert is issued despite a recent dry period in the state and a noticeable rise in maximum temperatures observed on Sunday. According to the MeT station, this orange alert is applicable to the districts of Chamba, Kangra, and Lahaul and Spiti, due to the compounded effects of heavy snowfall and rain received on February 26, 27, and 28.
