Chinese Man Suffers Intestinal Injury During Girlfriend’s Childbirth Simulation Trial

In Henan, China, a man is suing his girlfriend after a painful childbirth simulation resulted in him losing part of his small intestine. The couple attended the simulation as a “test” before their marriage, despite the man’s initial objections. The simulation used electric currents to mimic labor pain, and as the intensity increased, he struggled and eventually gasped for air. A week later, he was hospitalized for worsening abdominal pain and diagnosed with severe intestinal damage. Following the incident, the man’s mother advised the girlfriend against visiting him, stating the engagement was canceled. Social media has condemned her actions, calling for accountability.

A man from Henan province in China has taken legal action against his girlfriend after enduring a punishing childbirth simulation that lasted three hours, resulting in severe pain requiring emergency surgery, according to a report by the South China Morning Post. The man has now lost a segment of his small intestine.

The woman brought her boyfriend to a labor pain simulation center as a “test” ahead of their marriage, following a suggestion from her family that they try out the experience. While he initially resisted, he ultimately agreed to participate in the challenge.

Significantly, the experience utilized electric currents to stimulate the skin and muscles, mimicking the sensations of uterine contractions during labor. Throughout the session, the girlfriend gradually increased the intensity for the initial 90 minutes, but by the time they reached level 8, the man was “shouting and struggling”.

“My boyfriend began screaming and fighting at level 8, swearing and weeping at level 10, and by the session’s conclusion, he was gasping for breath. My sister and I were continually wiping his sweat,” the woman detailed on social media.

One week later, the man was admitted to the hospital with persisting abdominal pain that had continuously worsened. Upon examination, doctors discovered that a portion of his small intestine had sustained irreversible damage.

The man’s mother advised the woman against visiting him in the hospital, declaring that their engagement was now over.

“I was informed that my boyfriend had part of his small intestine removed. I am prepared to take full accountability as long as he recovers,” the girlfriend stated.

Social media reacts

As news of the man’s suffering circulated widely, social media users expressed outrage, blaming both the woman and her family for jeopardizing the man’s well-being.

“Typical labor pain lasts at most 10 minutes. This girlfriend and her family appear to be insane,” remarked one user, while another noted: “Childbirth is infinitely more intricate. No simulation can replicate that experience.”

A third individual commented: “The actions of this woman should have legal repercussions.”

According to Chinese law, anyone who inflicts injury on another person is required to compensate for medical, nursing, transportation, nutritional, and other rehabilitation expenses.
