Honor Watch 5 Ultra Launches with Titanium Design and ECG Features, Alongside Global Release of Honor Pad V9 and Earbuds Open

Honor has launched its first Ultra watch, the Honor Watch 5 Ultra, featuring a circular OLED display in an octagonal body with a premium Grade 5 titanium frame and ceramic-like back. It supports ECG monitoring and offers over 100 sports modes, including a Free Diving Mode that goes up to 40m underwater. The watch boasts a durable sapphire crystal and customizable UI with 10,000 watch faces, promising 15 days of battery life. Additionally, Honor introduced the Pad V9 tablet with a high-resolution display and the Open Earbuds, featuring AI translation and comfortable design, suitable for various activities.

Today, Honor has revealed its inaugural “Ultra” watch, marking a sequel and a notable upgrade from the Honor Watch 4 Pro released a couple of years ago. In contrast to the current Honor Watch 5, this new model features a circular display set within an octagonal casing.

Simultaneously, the Honor Pad V9 and Honor Buds Open are being introduced to global markets.

Honor Watch 5 Ultra

The new Honor Watch 5 Ultra distinguishes itself from its counterparts with its use of premium materials – the mid-frame is crafted from a Grade 5 titanium alloy, while the back combines a ceramic-like substance with a polymer fiber composite. This differs from the aluminum construction of the standard Watch 5 and even the stainless steel of the Watch 4 Pro.

Protecting the front is a sapphire crystal, which enhances durability and scratch resistance. Beneath it lies a circular 1.5” OLED display (466 x 466px, 310ppi), featuring an LTPO panel with a variable refresh rate that can reach up to 60Hz for seamless animations, while allowing for a lower rate to extend battery life (more on that later). The device supports Always On Display mode.

Honor’s first Ultra watch is also equipped with ECG capabilities. The Quick Health Scan feature provides immediate ECG readings, and the Health Monitor Report summarizes all health data gathered from the previous day.

Returning to the topic of durability, the Honor Watch 5 Ultra introduces a new Free Diving Mode that allows for underwater exploration of up to 40m (130ft), surpassing the 5 ATM rating of earlier Honor watches. In total, there are over 100 sports modes available.

The watch body measures 46.3mm in diameter and is 11.4mm thick, weighing 51.8g without the strap attached. It includes a speaker, enabling you to take calls without needing your phone nearby.

Users can navigate the watch’s UI using a rotating crown. The interface is highly customizable, featuring over 10,000 unique watch faces and Scenario Service Cards for quick access to functions such as weather updates, fitness tracking, and more.

The device is powered by a 480mAh battery, which is the same capacity found in the Watch 4 Pro and Watch 5. The Ultra promises up to 15 days of battery life and supports wireless charging.

The Honor Watch 5 Ultra comes in Black and Brown options, each paired with either a fluoroelastomer or a leather strap, respectively.

Honor Pad V9

The Honor Pad V9 was announced back in December. To summarize, it is an 11.5” tablet (IPS LCD, 2,800 x 1,840px, 144Hz refresh rate, 10-bit colors) powered by the Dimensity 8350. The tablet is compatible with Honor’s Magic Pencil 3 and Smart Keyboard cover (both sold separately).

Key features include a set of eight IMAX Enhanced speakers and a 10,100mAh Si/C battery that fits seamlessly within the slim 6.1mm chassis. It supports 66W fast charging.

Honor Earbuds Open

Designed for extended comfort, these earbuds feature an open-ear design with ear hooks. They also utilize AI technology to help bridge language barriers, offering translation support for 15 languages in three modes (Shared Mode, Exclusive Mode, and Simultaneous Interpretation). Active Noise Cancellation is included, and a bone voiceprint sensor ensures clarity during calls, even in noisy settings.

Each earbud weighs 7.9g and is made from skin-friendly silicone. With an IP54 rating, they can be used for running in the rain – the hooks ensure they remain secure in your ears. The earbuds deliver up to 6 hours on a single charge, with a total of 22 hours available when used with their charging case. They also support quick charging; just 15 minutes in the case provides enough power for 2 hours of listening.
