Australia and South Africa traveled to Dubai for their upcoming semi-final, with Australia set to play on March 4. An ICC official stated that the scheduling decision aimed to give Australia ample preparation time. However, this arrangement places South Africa in a less than ideal situation, as they recently traveled from Pakistan to Dubai only to return to Pakistan shortly thereafter.
Because of conflicting schedules, both Australia and South Africa had already traveled to Dubai. An ICC official mentioned that the decision was made to give the team competing in the semi-final in Dubai (which is Australia, in this instance) the most time possible to prepare for the match on March 4. Unfortunately, this places South Africa in a less than ideal situation, as they have recently flown from Pakistan to Dubai, only to head back to Pakistan shortly after.
