Authorities have opened a case against her under relevant laws regarding elder abuse and property disputes.

A disturbing video is circulating widely on social media that shows a woman from Hisar, Haryana, physically attacking her mother. In the video, she can be heard saying she will “drink her blood,” alongside pulling her hair and slapping her.

Following the video’s rise in popularity, the woman’s brother filed a police report alleging that she has been holding their mother captive and subjecting her to mental and physical harassment to coerce the transfer of property into her name. Consequently, a case has been registered against the woman by the police.

The three-minute clip, filmed in Modern Saket Colony in Azad Nagar, Hisar, features the woman, identified as Rita, sitting on a bed with her mother, Nirmala Devi, who is visibly upset and weeping.

After verbally assaulting her mother, Rita strikes her hard on the leg and proceeds to bite her thigh, ignoring her mother’s cries. “This is fun, I will drink your blood,” she says to Nirmala Devi.

While Nirmala continues to sob, Rita seizes her by the hair, drags her down, and seemingly bites her again as she pleads for leniency. In a subsequent altercation, Rita slaps her mother and poses the question, “Will you live forever?”

A man’s voice can be heard in the background as Rita then forcefully kicks her mother from the bed, strikes her, and continues to yell at her. “You are forcing me to do this,” she exclaims, delivering another blow while pulling her hair and pushing her down.

In his report, Rita’s brother, Amardeep Singh, stated that his sister had married a man named Sanjay Punia two years ago, who resides in a nearby village of Rajgarh, but she returned to her parental home shortly afterward. He reported that she then began to harass their mother over property and had brought her husband to live with them both.

Mr. Singh further accused Rita of having taken the money from selling a family property in Kurukshetra for ₹65 lakh and of having confined their mother to her home to ensure that property was also transferred to her name. He alleged that Rita had prevented him from visiting their house, threatening to make false accusations against him.

Inspector Sadhuram, Officer-in-Charge of the Azad Nagar Police station, confirmed that a case has been filed against Rita under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007.
