Honor has recently announced the deployment of its latest software update, named MagicOS 9.0, for the Honor 200 series in India. This series includes two models — the Honor 200 and Honor 200 Pro. Based on Android 15, it was first introduced in China back in October and was initially rolled out for the flagship Honor Magic 6 Pro in India last month. According to the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) from China, MagicOS 9.0 features enhanced customization across the user interface, gestures for various system functions, and artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities related to photo editing and productivity.
MagicOS 9 Update for Honor 200 Series
In a recent press release, Honor highlighted that the MagicOS 9.0 update for the Honor 200 series in India also includes the February 2025 security patch, which boosts system security. The update introduces new icons, media cards, and an updated Control Centre as part of the revamped UI. Additionally, new gestures have been implemented to enhance user navigation through the interface, allowing users to pinch with two fingers on the home and lock screens to access personalized spaces.
A significant aspect of the update is the array of AI features available. Honor emphasizes that MagicOS 9 heavily incorporates AI translation, featuring tools like AI Translate for real-time translations during lectures and meetings, complete with automatic language detection. The Notes app has been enhanced with AI capabilities; its voice-to-text and real-time translation functionalities facilitate automatic transcription of meeting minutes in various languages and dialects, and users can obtain a comprehensive summary with just a click.
Moreover, there is the AI Photo Editor, which enables users to extract subjects from images, create moving photos, and utilize paused videos. The tool allows them to remove unwanted elements from images and restore old or damaged faces in pictures using AI technology. Additionally, users can apply creative enhancements to images through AI-powered filters.
Honor has stated that the update is currently being rolled out, having already been completed for the Honor 200 Pro. MagicOS 9.0 is expected to reach all Honor 200 devices by March 3, according to the company.
