AMD has released first-party benchmark results comparing the new cards with the RX 7900 GRE. The results indicate that the RX 9070 is, on average, 21% faster at 4K resolution across more than 30 games, showing significant improvements in ray tracing titles due to enhanced ray tracing performance in the RDNA 4 architecture. The RX 9070 XT performs even better, being 42% faster at the same resolution with the same titles. AMD also claims that the 9070 XT is almost on par, just 2% slower, than the $750 Nvidia RTX 5070 Ti at 4K in the same games.
