On Friday, US President Donald Trump stated after his heated Oval Office exchange with Volodymyr Zelensky that the Ukrainian leader is disinterested in peace as long as he has American backing in the conflict with Russia.
“I have concluded that President Zelensky is not prepared for peace if America is part of the equation, as he believes our involvement provides him a significant edge in negotiations,” Trump posted on Truth Social.
Trump continued: “He showed a lack of respect for the United States of America in its revered Oval Office. He can return when he is ready for peace.”
