Waze has introduced a new feature enabling users with vehicles equipped with a second screen to display navigation on the instrument cluster, compatible with Apple CarPlay and Google Android Auto. However, this feature has limitations; the second screen primarily shows the navigation route, ETA, and speed limits, while details like speed cameras and road hazards still require checking the main infotainment display. To utilize this feature, users must update to Waze version 5.4 and ensure their vehicle supports third-party app data display, as some cars are restricted to native infotainment system information only.
In the most recent update, Waze introduced an exciting new feature for vehicles equipped with a secondary screen alongside the main infotainment display. Cars that are compatible with Apple’s CarPlay and Google’s Android Auto can now show Waze on the second instrument cluster screen.
However, there is a limitation. Not all information is visible on the screen in front of the driver. It primarily displays navigation routes, estimated time of arrival (ETA), and speed limits. To view details about speed cameras, road hazards, and other such information, you’ll still need to check the main infotainment display.
To take advantage of this new feature, you must update to Waze’s latest version 5.4. Additionally, your vehicle should be capable of displaying data from third-party applications, as some cars only allow information from the built-in infotainment system.
