Possible leak reveals announcement date for Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge.

At its January Unpacked event, Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S25 family and teased the Galaxy S25 Edge, now set for a full launch on April 16. The event will be online-only, with possible earlier availability in some time zones. Designed to compete in the ultra-thin segment ahead of Apple’s rumored iPhone 17 Air, the S25 Edge will feature a slim profile of 6.4mm, dual rear cameras, and is expected to use a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. It will be available in May in light blue, black, and silver, with an initial production run of only 40,000 units.

During its Unpacked event in January, where the complete Galaxy S25 lineup was unveiled, Samsung also hinted at the Galaxy S25 Edge and allowed us to get a first look. However, details were scarce.

If you’ve been curious about the official reveal date, a new report from Korea has surfaced, indicating that it will take place on April 16.

Keep in mind that due to time zone differences, the event could actually occur on April 15 in certain regions. Regardless, Samsung appears to have chosen mid-April for the full introduction of the slimmest model in its flagship lineup. The launch event is reportedly going to be held online only.

The report emphasizes that Samsung’s motivation for this device is to enter the ultra-thin smartphone market ahead of Apple, which is rumored to announce its own ultra-slim iPhone 17 Air in September. It is still speculated that Apple’s model will be thinner than the 6.4mm of the S25 Edge, but it will feature only one rear camera compared to the Edge’s two.

The Galaxy S25 Edge is set to be available in May in colors such as light blue, black, and silver. The initial production batch is said to be around 40,000 units, which is quite small and raises questions about whether Samsung anticipates this model to be successful. For context, this number constitutes less than 1% of the company’s monthly smartphone output.

Rumors suggest that the S25 Edge will feature a 200 MP main camera alongside a 50 MP ultrawide camera. It will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. In terms of pricing, it is expected to be positioned between the Galaxy S25 and the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
